Concert and Morality

        We all know that on 3 June 2012 an international singer, Lady Gaga has scheduled to have concert in Jakarta. But unfortunately, the rumors told that concert would be cancelled. It happens because of refusing from some mass organizations such as FPI.
        They thought that her songs spread satanism, mockery to other religion thus it can give bad influence to young generation. Another opinion said the way she dresses up is too sexy, vulgar it doesn’t suit for Eastern culture. And it can cause degradation in moral of Indonesia’s youth generation. So that, the mass organizations ask the police not to permit her to have concert in Indonesia. It’s ironic, isn’t it?
       Whereas it still can be talked with the artist’s management, promoter and artist itself. We can do like other countries ever did such as South Korea, Malaysia,and Singapore.
Those countries made strict rule about the costume that must have obeyed by the artist. So, the concert still could be held.
       Because concert is just a concert, it is part of entertainment. It may bring happiness, new experience also satisfaction in human’s life. Therefore, we must be able to think more wisely and see a problem in different point of view.
Moreover,is it true that cancellation of a concert can prevent degradation in moral of Indonesia’s youth generation???
       Oohh, come on... open your eyes and mind!! Actually without its concert, decline of morality has already happened in this country! Should one’s concert be blamed and banned just because of unreasonable reasons? It’s time for us to be an open-minded person.
